Deluxe Safari Pith Helmet
This fancy dress version of the safari helmet or topee is surprisingly realistic. It is thick foam covered in buff fabric with a tightly wound hat band. A brown strap over the peak with a little buckle. Inside you can adjust the fitting and there ventilation holes.
It really is a nice explorer's accessory and you will not look out of place saying, "Dr Livingstone, I presume,"
Pith helmets have been worn since around 1840 in Europe's tropical colonies by Westerners trying to protect their faces and necks from the hot sun.
